SALINE
Well were now into semester two, and this time studying film and T.V.
Now that all our modules for this semester have been introduced we can all get started.
But a couple of weeks ago, we all had an exciting opportunity to go and be runners on a film set for
'Perceval Pictures' who were making a short film titled ‘Saline’ which was being filmed in Weston –Super-Mare. One of the film’s locations was on Weston beach this is the location where some of us helped out as runners.

The first day I went down the crew had experience quite a few problems one, which included the camera not working. This meant filming was put on hold while one crewmember headed off to get another camera. To be honest at this point I did become a little bored because there was sooooo much waiting around and very little to do. Plus it didn’t really help much that the weather was freezing cold. However this didn’t put me off and I went back for a second day to gain some more experience and help the crew out. I enjoyed the second day a lot more, mainly because there was plenty more to do. Some of the jobs I got to do the second day was go and collect bits and pieces from the hotel, take the camera battery to be charged, and just try and keep members of the public away from shot.

It was great opportunity to see how a film crew works, the crew were all friendly and were happy to allow us to help out, we all got to do a bit of networking but what was also good was we got to see that what we do learn in the classroom does really take place in a real-life production.

Glad to read the last sentence! See if you can get one or two photos from Aleicia to add to this entry. Kim
